Healthcare SaaS / Workflow Platform
Orthodontic Workflow SaaS
Full-Stack Developer
An established multi-organization workflow platform with a long-lived Laravel and React codebase. I led and implemented staged modernization from Laravel 7 to Laravel 11, PHP 7.4 to PHP 8.3, and React 16 to React 17 while contributing reusable interfaces, integration reliability, search and reporting, API work, and PHPUnit regression protection within a distributed team.
- Laravel 7-11
- PHP 7.4-8.3
- React 16-17
- MySQL
- PHPUnit
Platform Context
A mature, access-aware workflow platform needed careful, staged evolution.
The platform coordinated complex, access-aware workflows across multiple organizations. It had a broad dependency surface, established business rules, asynchronous files and integration behavior, and a mix of frontend and backend responsibilities. My work focused on evolving mature production functionality without claiming ownership of the entire product or its architecture.
Leadership and Contribution Boundary
I led substantial modernization within an established, cross-functional product team.
I worked across Laravel and React in an established, cross-functional product team. I led substantial parts of the staged Laravel/PHP modernization and personally implemented selected interface, integration, API, search, and testing work. Product ownership, wider architecture, release management, and the full application remained team-delivered.
Staged Framework Modernization
A staged Laravel and PHP modernization made failures easier to isolate in a large, mature application.
Led and implemented a staged Laravel 7-11 and PHP 7.4-8.3 modernization, including package replacement, framework compatibility work, and regression repair. Each major stage made failures easier to isolate in a large mature application. The completed modernization was reviewed through a pull request by another senior developer.
Reusable React Workflow Interfaces
Reusable React workflow controls connected to Laravel validation and automated tests.
Upgraded React 16-17 and modernized related dependencies across forms, routing, state management, HTTP, testing, and build tooling. Created reusable React workflow controls connected to Laravel validation, API contracts, and automated tests, while intentionally omitting sensitive domain terminology.
Search, Integrations, and APIs
Extended search and integration behavior without exposing provider or workflow detail.
Extended Laravel Scout and Meilisearch for advanced filtering, sorting, indexing, and CSV export that preserved the active query. Implemented and evolved external-service integration behavior, background processing, API resources, authentication boundaries, webhooks, and organization-aware access without exposing provider identities, endpoint paths, payloads, or workflow rules.
Regression Protection and Collaborative Delivery
Contribution-led PHPUnit coverage protected framework upgrades and workflow behavior.
Expanded PHPUnit regression protection across framework upgrades, authorization, search, integrations, APIs, and workflow behavior. This was contribution-led testing within the broader suite, not a claim of authorship of all project tests or permanent defect-free delivery.
